Size of Food?

skmcwilliams Jun 27, 2005 07:05 PM

HI

I have two ball pythons who are about 800 grams each. I have been feeding them adult mice and they want to eat like every other day. What should I order next for their size. Rat pups, weanlings? Please help.

weanlings, a couple grams bigger than a adult mouse
rats seem to hold the apetite better as well (IMHO)
but remember this is just my observation, peple with more than 2 snakes may have a LOT more experience

I consider weanlings the same size as Mice, and small rats a bit to big for my snake that eats full grown mice.
he will eat a rat pup every or every other day, and a weanling every 3 days
but a small rat is too big

good luck

My 800 gram snakes take small or medium rats.
