Breeding question

rayner1 Jul 14, 2003 07:12 PM

I have had my CB Cal king for about 4 yrs now, when i bought it i was my first real pet and was uninterested in breeding. Now it is a little bit later and I had a sudden interest in breeding, but i don't have any clue as to what the makeup of my snake is....My goal in breeding is to try to extract the wildest colors possible from a the kingsnake and i don't even know how my snake got hers. How would i be able to find out what traits it caries?
Thanks ahead of time
Rayne

If you post a picture on here we might be able to give you an idea of what traits to start looking at.

I don't have a scanner so i'm not sure how i would post them, but i can try to explain it. It is a banded california king. The colors are not black and white but a milkchocolate color and a cream color, almost yellow but not as sharp as a banana king. Anything else i can do to explain or get pics up?

Sound to me like you have either a Coastal or a Chocolate phase. Check the following link.
