outdoor tegu enclosure...

crazydago18 Jun 27, 2005 09:39 PM

For a full grown adult male argentine b/w tegu. What do you think it would cost me, and what basics do you think i need to "tegu proof" and area like this. I know I’d use cypress for the bedding, but underneath should i dig down a bit into the ground and lay some chicken wire or something. as far as vertical climbing, should i expect this to happen. (Probably) idunno. Should i have something on the top, if not to contain the lizard but to keep other animals out if possibly. I live in Ohio so it would only be for 3 or 4 months out of the year he’s in an 8ftx4ftx4ft enclosure right now so he’s no living to bad as it is. Thanks for any advise I want to do this in the next couple of weeks and I know a few of you have some nice looking outside pens.

you might want to cover the enclosure to keep out animals like racoons or any type of animal that might try and take on an adult tegu. Here are some links to outdoor enclosures that are made for iguanas but would would for a tegu. Do a google search and ou will come up with some good results
