Koky,
Let's see some more pics of your big Suri's. Also, I just wanted to know your approach on dealing with these imported snakes...parasites?, do alot of them die?, do many of them tame down?, just any info you can provide would help.
Seems like the insane patterns and color come from the wild as opposed to us selectively breeding them.

Thanks,
andy

well i do agree that most of the crazy patterned suris are coming from the wild .. i have a few that even more experienced suri breeders would love to own cause of their crazy patterns .. crazy peaks , crazy colors , missing patterns , stripes .. ive gotten em all from the wildcaughts . as far as making it and dying .. out of over 150 suris that have passed thru my hands in the past year and a half to 2 years i believe ive lost around 5 to 8 animals .. and ive lost em "BECAUSE" they were in bad shape when i got em already .. yes the adults are a bit harder to acclimate and take longer than the babies or yearlings . but if they are kept at their right temps and somewhere where there isnt any traffic so they dont stress out ,they do pretty well. some that i have are better feeders and do better than alot of captives i have . its all in each individual animal i guess. this all of course is what i myself have experienced and noticed after a whole 2 years ..

here are a few things ive noticed about imports .. i tell this to alot of long time suri keepers and they freak out on me .. lol ..

but what i have noticed is that baby imports to yearling imports "MUST" be fed very small meals every 10 to 14 days . some can take more some less.. it has nothing to do with parasites sometimes at all or actual stomach problems .. they just easily stress and regurge easily because of it .

another reasom alot of them regurge is wrong temperatures. i live in miami florida so for me its easy to keep em warm..and i know alot of the suri keepers are gonna freak out now when i say this.. lol .. but my best luck with the "IMPORTS" has been keeping an ambient temp range of 88 to 92 degrees during the day and 80 to 85 at night ..any lower than that , and regurge is unavoidable in "SOME" and "MOST" of my imports . a hotspot of course of 95 during both day "AND" nights .. ive told this to many people and they freak out with disbelief . but they act great and happy at those temps for me . eat great and dont regurge . i also heard of alot of other suri keepers and breeders keeping em at these temps as well.. they just wont say anything .. lol ..

Great talking with guys that have been at it for a while to get some of the inside scoop. Would love to see some more pics of some of your favorite imports.
Thanks,
Andy
