rubidus beginning to pip

epidemic Jun 28, 2005 09:09 AM

First two eggs started to pip around 6:45pm Monday 27JUN05 and the rest shouldn't be too far behind.
This was a very interesting clutch, as no two eggs were the same size or weight and all that went full term have doubled in size.
I will post photos as soon as I can...

Best regards,

Jeff Snodgres

You are breeding rubidus, dude! lol

DeanAlessandrini Jun 28, 2005 03:35 PM

What-r-ya gonna do, sit on the corner with a cardboard box that says , "free rubidus to good home" ?

I mean, whose going want to BUY them when they are pretty much available ANYwhere (???)

LOL
I bet you are getting about 50 emails per day.

Oh...you may want to contact the person who goes by "Peter" who has had the "rubidus wanted" ad in the classifieds for about a year!

Good luck...is this your first clutch of these? I think oldherper's took pinkies pretty easily from my recollection.

Thanks Dean,

Yeah, these guys are common as dirt. Guess I can always send them to Keith H., so he can get stubborn L. getula started!
I'm giving most of them away, but my wife is gonna make me sell a couple, says she needs a new toaster! ;0)
This is the second clutch I've had to work with. Unfortunately, the clutch my other pair produced last year went south after 110 days of incubation, babies died within the eggs. This year they started to pip after 115 days in incubation..

Thanks again,

Jeff

I told you nobody would be excited about the rubidus .... HAH!!

Seriously, this is the coolest news for all us dry fans in a long time. Congrats and keep us updated on the hatching progress.
