Karubaga = Wamena. If you look on a map I believe it is somewhere around 50 miles NW ( or NE? I don't think it is south? ) of the town/village of Wamena. I believe all the founders at Herpofauna Indonesia ( I think they call it something different now, different owner ) were collected in and around Karubaga. This is a little fuzzy though, as the
Karubaga thing came out 2 or 3 years ago when HI started exporting "locality" GTP's.

The yellow highland hatchlings of Central Irian Jaya have dark red dorsal stripes with cross bars which can turn assorted shades of blue or not blue at all. The red hatchlings are the same deal except they have saddle shapes instead of cross bars. Many of the highland animals take on black pigment during ontogenic change. A few keep some black as adults.

Bokondini, Kelila and Karubaga are all right around Wamena. Lereh is to the East a bit.
