big ole wc eastern laid last night help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not new to snakes but my collection will be bred next yr, will be my first yr breeding snakes. A while back i caught a big eastern here in michigan. I was chasing toads thru the grass and she hooded up... well seems ive lived thru the bluff, though I did have doubts. Anyway Im now holding 34 eggs................ I breed some leos could really use some info on raising these eggs up.thanks

This link gives basic all around care of Western Hogs. Also talks about breeding and babies. I would think Easterns would be very similiar. Hope this helps.

Get a rubbermaid container, big enough to hold all of the eggs. Put 1 inch or perlite or vermiculite all across the bottom of the container. Spray some water on the substrate, and add a water bowl to one side of the container, away from where the eggs are. Put the eggs in, make sure not to turn them or flip them in any way or they will die. Put the lid on. If the temperature where you put the incubator stays around 78-84 degrees, they'll be fine. Good luck with them, and save a hatchling for me.

that's cool! 34 eggs! mine laid the same number of eggs last year. 25 of them hatched. i think 34 eggs is a record for Easterns.
