Where can I look to find fence lizards or nests? I've wanted to see one so bad. I have friends who have a farm with a nice pond with lots of reptiles but where do they hang out?
Thanks
Drew

Head up to the Barren's, that is the animals habitat. Bring two people, as that species is notorius for running around tree trunks like a squirrel does.

I routinely catch fence lizards in the NJ Pinelands. To catch them target areas with lots of downed trees. I find them along the logs on the ground and I often hear them scurrying along the ground, through leaves and climbing trees a short distance to hide. Once you learn there habit of hiding on the reverse side of a log or tree from you, you can ready your hand on the opposite side and basically chase them into your hand and press flat. Get them early in the day or on cooler days and they are not as fast. They make excellent short-term pets, feed readily and like to climb your shirt and sit on your shoulder or head once handled a little.
