LIke most long term croc owners, I handled my caiman daily when she was smaller. NOw thats she's a lil over 4 feet, she doesnt get taken out of her enclosure as much. Not that she is aggressive towards me, just a lot more to handle and I'm a lil more wary as she knows she's bigger and more confident in her movements.

Good luck

I used to hold my alligators more when there were smaller. Now they are much more confident in their abilities. I have two, in which one is an all out hell raiser. He simply doesnt like being touched and he will twist, shake, rattle and roll......oh yeah and bite. Some animals you can handle, but others are simply best left alone.

If the animal thrashes around alot and simply doesnt like being handled, then I would recommend (depending on size) that you handle as minimum as possible. The more you handle, the greater your chance of being injured or the animal being greatly stressed.

Hope this helps,

Chris
