Feeding baby boas

DanW Jun 28, 2005 07:49 PM

I had a litter of baby boas born 6/8/05. Not all have eaten yet. Whats the best way to feed for the first time? I place a frozen thawed mouse fuzzie with them in a shoe box. Should I use rats instead? Should I go with live? How about tease feeding? What works for you? All the boas look good and healthy but I just wish they would all eat.

Thanks,
Dan

Try placing live rat or mouse fuzzies in a tupperware over night...usually gone by morning....

...unless you'll easily provide live food. If you get them started on f/t, you won't have to switch them off of live food.

I've had good success jut tapping them on the nose with the thawed item, then dropping it on the other side of the cage for them find at their liesure. It is gone by morning.
