What About Mercury Vapor Bulbs..........more

As of right now I am useing a merc vapor bulb from Big Apple Herp and its great, the basking spot is around 115 and thats with te bulb somewhat far from the basking area. Anyways what I am wondering is if I could use a vapor bulb for the tegu I am getting (black and white). Another reason I like the vapor bulb is because they aren't overly expensive, cover a larger area of uva/uvb, and heat at the same time. Anyways let me know what you think! I like em. I've been using various types for a couple of years. My favorite as far as cost/preformance is the zoomed powersun. I think the T-rex has the neatest-blueish light but they come apart if I try to change fixtures. The wild-inside ones didn't last more then 2 months..
