What About Mercury Vapor Bulbs..........more

OneTwoManyHerps Jul 14, 2003 08:26 PM

As of right now I am useing a merc vapor bulb from Big Apple Herp and its great, the basking spot is around 115 and thats with te bulb somewhat far from the basking area. Anyways what I am wondering is if I could use a vapor bulb for the tegu I am getting (black and white). Another reason I like the vapor bulb is because they aren't overly expensive, cover a larger area of uva/uvb, and heat at the same time. Anyways let me know what you think! Thanks Again To Everyone Who Has Been Helping Me And Getting Me One Step Closer To My Next Herp!

I like em. I've been using various types for a couple of years. My favorite as far as cost/preformance is the zoomed powersun. I think the T-rex has the neatest-blueish light but they come apart if I try to change fixtures. The wild-inside ones didn't last more then 2 months..
