Yes, they make good beginner snakes. Most of them can be handled easily. They do not get too big. Milksnakes are generally less tolerant of handling.
kingsnakes make very good pet i have 3 cal kings and would take them over a dog or cat any day.
when you first get one they may bite or musk you but if you hold them for an hour or so a day and they will be ok but most will not even have to do that.
they get 3to6 foot long and there are kingsnakes in every color, same with milks snakes. you may want to look at corn snakes the make great pets to so have fun finding the one that you like the most just know one you get one you will want more and more but it lots of fun

i think they do, i just got one about 3 weeks ago, and at first i thought he was this wild crazy snake, always musking me and what not. but after like 3 days he calmed down and is such a calm little snake. its my first snake. and i would say he is awsome. the wife will tell you otherwise though lol. here he is
Beautiful snake you have there! How old is it? Is it a cali king of some sort? (I apologize for the absence of knowledge, still getting acquainted to the various species of kings.)
