Emergency question about feeding 2 week old beardies.

sacredpurr Jun 29, 2005 01:27 PM

Hi All! I got my order of bugs for my two week old beardies and all of them were dead! Dead as doornails!!!! They are going to replace them but I need tiny crickets now to feed my twenty babies and the Petstores here do not have small ones( they have 1/4 size only) what do I feed them until the new shipment comes. I have greens, juvy dragon pellets, and mini mealworms
(the real kind). And I can get Waxworms and maybe fruit flies but are they OK? I am very worried that I can't find anything small enough to feed. Suggestions? Thoughts? Are greatly needed. These are my first babies!!!!! TX

If I'm wrong someone please correct me but I think if the mealworms are small enough you can feed them those until you get more crickets in. I know what you're going through I have 10 babies to feed that aren't even two weeks old yet and OMG they're pigs. I'm just lucky that the pet store that I go to keeps a nice stock of all size crickets so I don't have to worry but the crickets I feed mine are two week old crickets and they do fine with them. I'm not sure if they're 1/4 inch or not but they're pretty small so if its the same size that I've been feeding then the ones you get from the pet store should be fine.

Order fly sized crickets. Ask for Michael Stuhlman bilineata@earthlink.net His crickets have always gotten to me with no problems.
