requesting info. on jungle carpets and diamonds......

JustinM. Jul 14, 2003 09:15 PM

I want to get a single jungle carpet python or diamond python or a hybrid. If anyone could suggest any books, websites, references, etc... it would be greatly appreciated.
Basically, I want to know what have become the "bibles" for providing information on this family of pythons. I like to get into deatil, but, first I want straight-forward, simple references about husbandry for these snakes. Thank you for replying!!!

I STRONGLY suggest staying away from a Diamond python because they have very specialized care compared to all other morelia specie.

The absolute best care sheet I have ever read, hands down is written by Anthony Caponetto, the link is http://reptiles.drivennewmedia.com/carpet_python_care.htm

The "bible" you need is Pythons of the World. Vol 1 by the Barkers.

Diamonds are far from straightforward in terms of care because of the temp' cycles. They are also expensive.
Jungles are fantastic snakes, IMO much nicer than crosses. There are some excellent breeders frequenting this forum, too.
