A baby Eastern is hatching !......

Keith Hillson Jun 29, 2005 02:04 PM

I bred my female Burlington Co., NJ Eastern King to a male MD/NC male that I felt would make for some out of this world hatchlings. Unfortunatley the male proved to be somewhat a dud as he sired 2 clutches of slugs excpet what looked like 2 viable eggs. After 30 days one egg turned green and blue so I opened it up and there was a tiny pink snake in there dead. The other egg was still going strong and today its hatching ! I think its day 57 and I really. I sold the father to a guy who simply wanted him for a pet but he was one of the most beautiful Easterns Ive ever owned. Cant wait to see what this baby is gonna look like. Here are pics of the parents.

Way to go Keith, even if it's only one! I'm still waiting. . .
