give it time. And when you take it out, when you put it back in, put her head in front of the hide box and she might go in and stay in.

Hi - I'm glad she's doing well for you. What are the dimensions in inches of your hide box?

In my opinion, if you have a snake that eats well, seems healthy and doesn't use its hide box, then you have a happy, secure pet on your hands. If you want the snake to use the hide, make sure it is sized to fit your snake snugly. They like the feeling of security that a tight fit provides. Also, try moving it around the enclosure or have more than one. The temperature in the box might not be to your snake's liking. There are a lot of people on this forum who are bummed out that their snakes do nothing but hide, so I'd consider myself lucky if I were you. As an aside, I've found that boas like to hide when they are small, but tend to give it up as they get older. I've always assumed they act that way because in the wild they are prey for many predators when they are small, but have few natural enemies (except man, of course) once they get larger.

Are you sure you have a ball python or a burmese? JK.. yeah, i agree, sounds like you have a very good snake on your hands. Its true that snakes like "snug" hide boxes but mine has a much bigger one and she stays in it all the time. So, i wouldn't worry too much about it.
