Vine Snakes...

Doug89 Jun 29, 2005 02:53 PM

Does anyone have one of these as a pet? Are they sold as pets? And if so where could one be purchased? I also hear they are slightly toxic, to what degree is there venom? Thanks!

Vine snakes are sold as pets. They are actually becoming very popular and are sold at many pet stores. If you have trouble finding them you can always look for expos in your area or online. They ar venomous, but only slightly. They're rear-fanged - if you react to flea, mosquito, or spider bites badly than you'll have a reaction to it, but mainly it just irritates your skin and it may swell a little. Before you get one make sure you read up because they like it humid and they are canopy dwelling snakes. Like kings they are pretty calm and don't tend to bite (but personalities vary). With mine i can even touch her head and she doesn't flinch. if you have any other questions just write back.
