Dehydrated Boa

cammyleon Jun 29, 2005 10:48 PM

I ordered a one month old red tail Boa online and recieved it by Fed Ex today. When I opened the package the Boa was VERY hot and dehydrated. It was weak and unable to hold its head up.I put it in a container with a moist paper towel and sprayed it down a lot. It seems to be doing a lot better now but it doesnt react to any movement. I tried putting my hand in front of it and it doesnt flinch or react at all. Could the dehydration have caused blindness or is that not possible? If not what do you think it is?

it might be exhausted and overheated and just not reponsive. Hopefully the little guy makes it. It is pretty darn hot to be shipping Fed-Ex. Not sure what part of the country you are from but I know here it can get pretty toasty even in the AM, especially in the back of a Fed-Ex truck I would imagine.

Good luck and keep us posted.
