This is a Cal King I caught a few weeks ago in Sunol, CA. He/she was about 3' long, resting in the shade on a warm summer morning. He didn't bite but he sure did give me a smelly musking. I caught an alligator lizard 5 minutes before, only herps for the day, besides the millions of bluebellies that this guy was probably hunting.
