Humidity

hi. what is a good humidity for ball pythons. right now im at about 55% and i wanna keep it consistently over 60. does that sound like a good humidy. while we are at it....i have a question about tank size. i know you are supposed to have a tank that fits the snake but if you have a 55 gallon for a 6 month old snake as long as you keep the sides at the right temps what is wrong with that. thats not my setup right now....right now i have a 10 gallon for my 6 month old. so dont get on my back for having too big of a tank i was just wondering. tryin to learn as much as i can so i know everything about balls because i am planning on breeding in the future

The humidity you are at is fine (70% would be about perfect, but is not critical). If your snake does/feeds well after moving it into a very large cage, than it is fine to move them into whatever size you whish (as long as their captive enviromental needs are met within their surroundings).

Hope this helps, cuz I don't do it often....LOL

im pretty sure he wouldnt have a feeding problem...he is a great eater. but also if i were to move him into the bigger tank i was thinking about putting like a fake tree or something in the middle, do you think he would liek that to climb on? or do balls tend to stay on the ground?

The young ones are more apt to climb than the adults, but you might waqnt to consider putting a hide box in there. It may make her feel a bit more secure.

no i would still have a hide box. i just thought it would look a little nicer to have a big plant or something in there...
