So if you don't want a short-tailed python, get a blood (brongersmai). The only thing truly huge about them is personality...and how fun they are to keep!

Find one you like and go from there. Just get one from someone who will be there to help you when questions come up along the way, and do your homework first!

Good luck & watch out...they're addictive, in a word.

I agree with Kara. Who you buy from is very important. Many of the people on this list have bloods for sale of various colors and patterns. You can also find them in many pet stores and internet classifieds. Buy from somebody with a reputation for excellence in both breeding and after the sale. Kara was being a bit modest when she failed to mention that she has lots of nice bloods for sale, and a great reputation to go with them.

On a second note, I am not sure why you discounted STPs they are wonderful animals and I personally recommend them as a "first" "blood" python. They are relatively smaller and seemingly more docile (not always). Some are drop dead beautiful.

I've posted this before but here it is again. Buy from one of these people. You'll be glad you did. Write me and I'll give you individual email addresses if needed.

Rich Crowley - Borneos for sure and maybe Sarawaks, Reds?
Kara (NERDS)- Lots of bloods, probably some Borneos, Blacks?
Jody McKenty- Smoldering Borneos right now, reds?
Ryan Norris- Very nice red babies right now
Tracy (VPI)- Everything you can imagine and some you cant
Angel- Nice blacks on hand

Sorry if I missed anybody. There are more but I am not sure what they have in stock at the moment. If any of these people want more $ than an internet ad just cough up the money, you'll be more than glad you did. Most will take a down payment to hold an animal.

Other than the obvious two (NERD and VPI), do these breeders have websites??
