Cricket companies with any relation to those beetles?

frogsandchams Jul 14, 2003 10:30 PM

Just curious. Recently, I noticed alot of those tiny beetles and tiny mealworms with my crickets. Never see them when I receive my crickets, so was wondering, do they come with the crickets? Or do they somehow get "laid by bugs" afterwards. Wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this regarding any certain companies. I don't want to name who I use, so this could be interesting if someone mentions they get the same thing from the same company.

That happens a lot, even in pet shops, so I'm guessing it's not just your company. Sorry if that's obvious. Anyway, I think they just are so tiny they end up mixed up sometimes, and they way some of the larger companies store and ship them, it makes it more or less probable.

But, it'd be very interesting to hear more about this! I've wondered about it for long, long periods, myself

I find a couple tiny black beetles in my crix sometimes as well and I get them from a local herp shop down the street from me.

Ditto, and some larval-looking worms, too.
