Watch the kingsnake classifieds. I highly recommend holding out and waiting for a captive bred chuck, they are usually posted late summer or early fall. They can be a bit pricey, but most of the wild caughts offered for sale are already declining and it can be an uphill battle getting them acclimated.
Here's a picture of an adult male some friends and I caught and released in the mojave with a 6" ruler.
