This shot was taken in the shade as I do not typically take my albino (or sunglow in this example) boas in the direct sunlight.

Time of day plays a key role in the angle of the sunlight. Shoot in morning or late afternoon for a good bit of slant which makes for less shadowing. You can see in the triple het picture above, it was taken at mid-day and the sun was pointing straight down. Because of that I had to take shots directly over him... angled shots would create too much shadow.
