blood sizes (again)

restless_gambit Jul 01, 2005 10:08 AM

well,i know for fact i don't want a red haha since they are the biggest, but i always thought that there were more true bloods like:sumatrans, borneos, blacks but i might be wrong. and the reason i want a true blood is because they don't cost a bit more so i don't mind the extra size. I wanted to know like about borneos and sumatrans mainly since they are the next smallest to blacks (as far as i know so please if there is smaller tell me)but either way the cage will still be big enough. sorry for all the questions but i guess thats what this place is for lol. thanks again, restless_gambit

Well a true blood? A lot see the difference with calling them blood or short tails the coloration, reds and such of course for their blood coloration that they are, and well the others short tails due to them not being red and such, although a lot of people still call borneos bloods, as well as the blacks.

I stand with what is said above with going with either a borneo or a black if you want to attempt to keep one of the smaller species, Im sure they do go for a bit more than all those captive hatched imports your seeing though, and quite a few people have great looking blacks and borneo babies available right now as listed above, pricing, well I am always willing to pay the price for a nice captive bred and born animal in the long run. If you can't get one now and are dead set to have one then just save a little more.

I think you may be a little confused or maybe im confused by your post a true blood like you are refering to are reds which are malys sumatran reds and bangka, now borneo and sumatran blacks are what people refer to as short tails i would agree that they are probably the best to start with blacks are the smallest but they can get as big as some reds my biggest blood is a black and i do have adult reds to.But i would rec a black or a borneo if this is your first blood and def cb a wc red can be a scary first snake. My fist blood was wc and that was a big mistake. So if you cant afford a cb it would be worth the wait to get one trust me.Are far farm raised or ch my exp has been they can go either way i just got a new ch blood and its fairly calm if your comfortable with gun shy snakes.Well i hope this helps Shaun t
