Pueblan questions

Fleck Jul 01, 2005 11:10 AM

Hello
From what I read Pueblans average 3 feet,no difference between male and female tempermeant or color wise and a bit more secretive than most milks?
If you disagree with any of that or have input about anything else about pueblans please let me know.
I am interested in probably what is called "Sock head" pueblan and any feedback is great.
Thank you

All of my pueblans were very jittery as hatchlings but they can be tamed down nicely with the proper attention.
Here are two of my four, as you can see they have very healthy appetites.

Great looking snakes. I notice you prefer to feed all your snakes on your arm than in a cage lol.
Do you find them a bit more secretive than other milks?
thanks

Some of my snakes prefer not to dine out, the ones that do dine in my arms become much better captives.
And yes, pueblans and other milksnakes can be very shy and flighty, if you like bold snakes you should give the blotched/apalachicola a try.

I've kept several peublans. All were super-shy hatchlings, but by the time they hit about one year all three were pretty tolerant of light handling, and awere coming out to cruise aorund their cages from time to time. Only one has continue to want to have his food hidden in order to eat, but even he will come out to explore at times. Mine seems to be slightly more sensitive to activity in the room around them (compared to my other milks), but only very slightly.

I love the look of pueblans as I like the tri color snakes but they seem a bit to shy compared to some kings, milks. So still not decided.
No big deal about the handling but want a snake I actually see intead of allways looking into "empty" enclosure.
However I think all the tri color kings, milks are known for being shy.
Thanks
