water dragon or basilisk?

savagehart Jul 01, 2005 01:45 PM

well i guess this is a great place to ask my question! you see, i have a hugenormous cage i built for my iguana a loooooong time ago. i had to give him away for various reasons, so now i have a huge empty cage. it's (i forget the exact dimentions) maybe 6 or 7 feet tall, maybe 5 feet long, and maybe 3 feet deep (or wide, whatever you want to call it). it was built for an iguana so it's gotta be huge... it's wood on three sides and the top, and a linolium covered floor (lights are yet to be installed). the front is doors (are doors? i dunno) that are wood frames with plexiglass in them, if that makes sence. and i can (and will) install various climbing branches and other things as needed.

i'm not going to put anything in it for a while now...but i want to keep it for the future. but now i'm trying to descide what i want to keep in it! i'm thinking eather a Basilisk or a water dragon. but i cant descide between the 2! any thoughts on which is better? would the cage suit one better than the other? thanks tons everyone!

Water dragons are definitely much more tame and less skiddish if thats what your looking for and lvoe human contact more than basilisks. Id say the water dragon is better

the enclosure you have sounds great for both water dragons and basilisks! i personally like basilisks more, because they are so interesting and you get a feeling of accomplishment when you successfully raise one, plus they are gorgeous! but i agree that if you want a lizard that is more personable, i would go for a water dragon, as they tame much easier.
