Heres what I was trying to send...

Hiya, R-U the Bayareaherper? If so...Im sorry for my post sounding so harsh...
On to Lyres...I actually rarely see them here...mainly cuz i rarely roadcruise anymore. But even when I did, I never fd many of em here, ...I did better in S. Cal... yrs back.....
If you had to have sonorans & wanted to catch em yourself....Id pick any secondary rd, traversing desert mtns; around Phx.. SR 88 [Apache Trail east towards Apache Lake] would be my top pick. The Kitt Pk Rd w of town for the area around Tucson.

Cheers, John Gunn

I gather that being solicited is a common occurence. Point taken. I knew that my wording was strident but I reasoned that posting a response that way would be an unequivocal statement as to my philosophy and would stop the emails--which it did. I also got requests to see my various habitat locations "for pictures only, I swear." Even if that were true in MOST cases, what about the one guy who'd go back and flip stuff around and not put it back or worse yet clean it out (or show it to someone else who would)? Consequently I have no choice but to come across as rude to everyone, which is a bummer because I'm not that way at all.

Oh well...

Regards,

SA

I hear ya, its frustrating & understand some of those offers are likely trolling LE [as they should be on threatend spps], in any case my response was too harsh & Ill owe ya a brew one day as a token of my remorse.

Kieth, I think you forgot the basic "thankyou" that advice ought to elicit...but you're very welcome in any case!

Heres a timelessly gr8t jpg that a colleague (T. Brennan I think...) took a few years back....a silent struggle that epitomizes the mystery & difficulty in determining how serpents interact in nature...

Cheers, John Gunn

...they dont use it often...but then... I usually feed em small iguanids or f/t fuzzies!

Handling them tho...they wrap around your fingers much more like a lyre...than an elaps such as...regalis...
Oh yeah BTW...there are no good spots, @ least in Az...[see Degenhardt]...thats partly why theyre so special

John, John, John...you and your snakes eating other snakes pictures. Gee whiz, when are you going to show us a nice side-blotched lizard or something? How about a Mexican garter snake, or an albino pyro freshly caught in Cave Creek? Now, that would be something. Hey, thanks for the heads up about the bayareaherper thread. I had a little fun with Randy down below. heeheehee Let's see if he want's to talk crap to the Master. lol

I feel your pain, and I sent you an e-mail. There are too many suposedly enlightened people like Randy out there (I'm talking about the guy who quoted bag limits to you, not bluerosy). Unfortunately, their information is very skewed (the wrong direction), and they are walking dispensers of mis-information. Have a good day.
