red tail advice...

diegos_den Jul 01, 2005 09:08 PM

Hello all,
I've always been fascinated by the beauty of red tail boas. I'd really love to get one. I've got a couple questions though. first of all, are certain species more docile than others? if so, which would be the best choice for someone who really hates to be bitten? also, I haven't been able to find any info on length/weight/growth rate of different species. I would prefer a smaller one. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Go with a columbian. BCC are more agressive and jumpy, they also grow larger.

1.0 Columbian (BCI)
0.1 Suriname (BCC)
0.1 Longicauda (BCL)
1.0 Bolivian (BCA)

what's the scientific name for the BCC, there seems to be a lot of confusion on the web regarding the names and their abbreviations. And do you know of a site with a wealth of husbandry information specific to this species?

thanx again,
JT
