hatchling question???

ginger7456 Jul 01, 2005 10:16 PM

I have had 3 baby cresteds hatch in the last 2 weeks -these are my first babies, so of course I am a nervous, paranoid wreck. I was just curious how often should I feed them? I've only seen one of them eat crickets-I've been giving them baby food with CGD mixed in it just to make sure that they are getting something in them...Any input on raising my little creatures would be appreciated...thanks in advance...

Since they are nocturnal, they are only very active late at night, when you are in bed. You most likely will not see them eat very much if at all. I fed mine CGD only, no baby food no crickets. I never saw them eat, but I watched them grow. My point is if they look healthy and are gaining weight and they are pooping healthy poops, no worries. I was paranoid about that when I got my first few cresteds, and I think your question is asked on this forum more than any other question. There usually is nothing to worry about; and congrats on the new kids!
