retf/frilled dragon

jacsoncham Jul 14, 2003 11:37 PM

I was just wondering if a adult red eyed tree frog could survie in a frilled dragon cage, the cage is 4x2x2 (2 being the height). The cage is cover in leaves for him/her to hide in.

No
RETFs re easily stressed. The lizard would either kill it via stress or eat it.

I would have to go with a no, also. The RETFs are very sensitive and are almost always sleeping, which leaves them very vulnerable. I can't speak for the dragon, though, but I doubt the frog would live long in that kind of environment.

Remember, they certainly don't share the Central American rainforest canopy with frilled dragons. That should be enough of a cue to discourage you, because it means they won't be evolved to handle eachother.

Frilled dragons are very active and love to climb so feel more secure when given an arboreal, which means no matter where your RE hides, the dragon will more than likely find it. But most importantly is temperature. A dragon needs temps between 84-88 in the day with a basking area near 98. Those temps are MUCH to high for a RETF! The heat will surly kill your RE.

All in all, it's simply best to house them in separate enclosures.

Well, then, I need to get some frilleds! They'd go PERFECT in my backyard!

I don't know about the frilled's in your area, but the one's here are around like 699$. I personally would never risk, with then an expensive treefrog. Not that I would mix them if both were cheap anyways, so the answers no.
