Hello,
I have two king snake females that mated about two weeks ago. I have heard that you shouldn't feed snakes during pregnancy. Is this true? They look hungry to me. Could this mean that no conception has occured?
Thank you in advance,
jc.

I am always hesitant to answer a lot of the breeding questions as I'm more of a herp health guy.
If your females have an appetite and will eat, then feeding them is no problem. Consider feeding smaller prey items to avoid much pressure on the other organs (specifically reproductive). Often gravid females will decide they do not want to eat, but this is not a hard and fast rule. I do not have kings, but both my boa and corn snake ate while gravid.
Have fun with your snakes and I"ll have my fingers crossed for you
Ian
