UPDATE......dialup beware

draybar Jul 02, 2005 09:49 AM

OK quick update and, to me, some pretty exciting developments.

first a recap

Female creamsicle, Arwen bred to male motley creamsicle ,Aragorn.
Arwen laid 20 eggs..18 creamsicles het motley hatched.

female cinnamon, Shana bred to male cinnamon, Toast.
Shana laid 24 eggs...18 cinnamons hatched (their first season breeding)

female snow, Glaceir bred to male ghost het amel, Jacob.
Glacier laid 18 eggs...all 18 hatched...11 anerys and 7 snows

female bairds rat snake, Rosie bred to male bairds, Sam
Rosie laid 5 eggs...2 slugs 3 viable.
The three viable eggs hatched beutiful bairdis.

female snow, Frosty bred to male ghost het amel, Jacob.
Frosty laid 3 eggs..2 slugs 1 viable.
the one egg died 57 days into incubation.

Now my excitement
female creamsicle, Yoda bred to male stripe creamsicle, Apollo
Yoda laid 18 eggs....all 18 hatched
it appears as if both Yoda and Apollo turned out to be het motley and I got some motley creamsicles in the clutch. even better though...10 of the 18 turned out to be motley...talk about beating the odds !!!!! whoo whoo

so out of 84 eggs put into incubation 75 hatched successfully.
not too bad...that is about an 89% success rate.

now some pics...

one of Arwen's cream babies: not one of the keepers but a nice little cream:

one of Glacier's anerys:

one of Glacier's snows:

one of Shana's cinnamons:

one of the motley creamsicles...possibly a banded motley:

group of the cream motleys: ready to shed

OK, I can't resist any more. It's probably an old line, but everytime I read about anerys, I keep imagining a snake singing with an English accent, "I'm anery the eighth I am, anery the eighth I am, I am. . ."
