just stopped eating.

so i've had my male albino for well over a year, and it's been the best pet i've ever owned. he seemed to be perfectly tame from the moment i brought him home. never refused any food or anything, eats right out of my hand half the time. now it seems he's just lost the desire to eat. i've tried mealworms and crickets, to which he gives the same reaction. he'll look at them, maybe even lick the mealworms once or twice, and walk away, uninterested. he hasn't eaten in a couple weeks now. my other high yellow male will not stop eating, so i can't imagine its a temp thing or anything of the sort. i'm beginning to worry, and i'm not sure what to do. any suggestions?

As always when an eating issue comes up, the first thing that pops to mind is parasites. Get a fecal sample and have it run at a vet clinic, if you cannot get a fecal because he isnt pooping then just make an appointment and the vet may decide to deworm anyway just in case.

You say you dont think its the temps because your other male is eating fine, are they housed together? If so this may be the root of your problem, males should never be housed together, if they are together then your other male is probably causing immense stress to this one and causing him to not eat. If the male that is not eating is housed with any other leos (male or female) seperate him and set him up in a hospital tank on his own. double check your temps and make sure theya re correct (90 in the hot spot, 80's ambient temp) and if they are then i would go to the vet asap. Parasites and many other conditions are easy to treat if treatment is started early, but can be very tricky if you wait too long.

nope, not housed together. my other male is about 2 feet away in his own tank though. same exact setup as well.

i'll search around and see what i can find... otherwise it looks like a trip to the vet is in order.
