There were poeple with lots to sell,, but just ordinary animals..the vendors were pissed that this was supposed to be a huge turn out but it was hardly that...maybe 200 attendants all day...

We drove up from Atlanta and were extremely dissapointed. Picked up a few more baby female balls nuthin special went thru the whole entire show 3 times in 30 mins then drove 4 hours home blah!

Also, the event orginizer told us that they had over 500 on friday alone, then talking to the vendors they said maybe 200 if you were counting kids, and only 25 had any money lol!! Vendors also said they were giving away more tables to let everyone spread out to look bigger, WHAT a JOKE!

to be a waste of time for venors........

people walk around and buy stupid stuff and a couple rats or mice and maybe a box of crickets and some lucky bamboo......a knife or a sword....and if lucky a baby burm or any cheap snake or lizard that costs $20 or less.....even though it's an import and so skinny it looks pathetic.....and if they do want something they will ask you to sell it at half the cost even though it is on the table at half cost to begin with......

why wholesale is better usually......

I prefer to sell them in bulk to retailers..................

easier to get rid of 300 babies that way..............

Ok the show didnt make it.Lets not bash Troy and Kelly for that.They jumped in and tried to make the show work,they made a few mistakes,but give them credit for trying.Very few of you that are unhappy with the turn out couldnt make a show happen or dare to try one.Thanks Terry Heuring ### Owner- Dixie Reptile Shows

First off im not bashing anyone,,much less i wouldnt wanna try to put one on..I was just a customer there and know what the vendors were told prior to coming down here...But as i do like going to shows to purchase some nice animals, im usualy dissapointed when i go to one of your dixie shows every month wanting to hopefuly find some nice morph but theyre just not there ever..

Just what are you looking for?I saw a spider ball at the last show and I know there was a pied and an albino.I am working with several morphs and if you tell me what you are looking for I will be glad to help.Terry

Ive already been happy to aquire what i need...my point was that none of the shows ive been to have even a pastel at the least..some of us just get dissappointed when we bring a lil cash looking for somethin more than average and its not there...

But they weren't for sale!!!! Just for show! I live in nashville and I too was very disappointed! I went saturday about 2pm...vendors were already starting to pack up! I did too purchase a few female balls(baby) and some NICE glass cages!

The thing is it is HARD to have a show in certain STATES, The Nashville show was NOT what was Expected, But it wasn't that Bad of a show. I guess I must have gotten to ALL of the COOL BALL PYTHONS before you came to the show.....LOL.... I left with several(12) nice females and 2 good black back males and I left before 2pm. I will post a photo of the new babies later. BUT back to the show, If everyone that doesn't think the SHOW was what THEY expected comes on the FORUM BASHING IT do you think the shows will keep going ON, The Answer is probably NOT, WE as a WHOLE have to SUPPORT the NEW and UPCOMING SHOWS if WE expect to SEE better animals and SHOWS closer to US. Believe me I know what I am talking about, I setup at 2-4 shows a month all over the EASTERN SIDE of the US and I don't come one the forum talking bad about any of the shows I do. Bottom line if the show promoters don't make any money you can bet you won't be having another show at that venue again and soon you MAY only see a few show going on and that is IT..... that wouldn't be good for most people that want to SEE an animal before they BY it, I guess you could get it at a PET SHOP, But then again How many PET SHOP have HIGH DOLLAR Ball Python MORPHS....None that I know of in MY area. Just think before you SLAM...... it might cause you to NOT have a show near YOU at ALL. We just need to TRY and Get the shows to GROW, The Nashville show was the FIRST ONE.... Hope they Do better next time but don't slam them, they did bring a NEW area show for you to attend didn't they? Thanks David

There are a lot of pet stores with high dollar morphs, you usually just have to ask the owner. Often they are not on display for fear of being stolen.

thats not true.............if you take the number of pet stores in total that have high dollar morphs i guess in theory you could call that number "high" but in general and % wise your lucky if the "CB" ball pythons are even that let alone high dollar morphs........on average a pet store is not the place for them and not even the place for the bad info they give when selling their "CB" babies........im not bashing pet stores or any owners that may be reading this and i doubt its intentionally bad info they give out they are just spreading the rumors and lies that they themselves have been told in their past.........if you want to learn about ANYTHING in life go to the people who WRITE the books not those who read them........have i ever written a book on husbandry?.....ABSOLUTELY NOT....but i pick away at the brains of those who do and learn all i can from respected reputable sources not only in this but in ANYTHING im interested in....pet stores are great,we need them,and there cant be too many ....BUT they are not the place for high dollar morphs on average........to all the pet shops who do have them......thank you for promoting them and showing the public what it is we all love and to those who dont have them or arent knowledgable about them please stick to supplies and feeders..................all my best Jerry Lowry SJS reptiles

Who the heck are you? I set up at the Dixie Reptile show EVERY MONTH..... I guess you were NOT at the show for the last 10 months when I had MY PIED, SPIDER, PASTELS, Albino, Yellow bellies, and other Morphs. I also have Had MY 13 Baby pastels at the show. Where were you? Last month I also saw K&N reptiles with a Spider male for sale and he has also had Pastels at the show for sale, And at least last year someone had Albino Boas, someone else with a Albino Blue Tegu, and that was just a few of the things I have seen. At the Dixie show you can get anything and EVERYTHING you want. You either didn't have the cash or you just FORGOT what was at the show, Because if you Have been at the Dixie Reptile show then you could have gotten just about any Morph you would have wanted. As a matter of fact I could have sold My Albino ball last month for 2500.00 if I would have wanted to take a 1,000 loss on it. Please do not bash a show unless you have the FACTS right.

The last time i was at dixie was 3 mos. ago and the people there told me theres not anyone selling morphs often because of prices...and by the way i do have the cash dave,,along with a nice collection,I wasnt bashing the nashville or dixie show i just said the vendors werent happy because they were obviously lied to about promised attendance,,,get the cob outta your piehole..this isnt the other site..you guys need some midol...

Well if you were told that then someone LIED to you. Different MORPHs of Ball pythons come to the SHOW all of the time. I set up at the show almost every month and YES we DON'T like to bring the HIGH dollar MORPHS because They PROBABLY will NOT SELL but WE still bring them just INCASE, Maybe if YOU WOULD ASK some of the Vendors or The SHOW PROMOTER if they know of any Vendor working or selling Ball python Morphs(Or any other Reptile) then some of you whiners would actually see these things at the shows MORE OFTEN...Make sense.... Supply and Demand, Come to the show this month and I know for sure you will see 2004 females, 2005 animals, Mojave's, Ghosts, Pastels, Cinnamon pastels, yellow bellies, High Gold animals, ETC. As for the Midol comment your the one that came on here with your panties in a wad about the show being so bad, Like I said YES it was not what WAS EXPECTED but with People like YOU that slam the shows because YOU didn'y like it ONLY HURTS the NEXT SHOW, Its kinda like this, If one person comes here and says a Certain SHOW was no good or was A WAIST OF TIME, How many people do you think will attend that show next time.... way less than the time before....and so on, Then Booom that show goes down the toob. Just because a show don't have any ball python Morphs forsale(LOL) don't mean it wasn't a pretty good show. Yea it wasn't what anyone expected but it was an OK show, like I said in the post above this....I personally got a few Screamer Baby ball pythons for CHEAP... I will be saving them for daytona this year they were so nice. But anyway people just need to THINK before they come on here and slam a show, It will onlt HURT the BUSINESS as a WHOLE... hey is that 8 out of 11 pastels from one clutch in that pic...........if so DAAAAAAAAAAMN thats sweet........my odds didnt work out that well this year at all with any of my pastel clutches but it was my first year of ball python eggs at all after raising all my girls from babies starting 4 years ago.....it was worth every minute of waiting to go through it and see it unfold........its been since the early 90's since i bred ANY reptiles and my how things have chnged since ive been gone.....im not going anywhere this time......and hey as far as the show good or not just keep doing what your doing and enjoy ....look at it this way you could be a million dollar plus a year athlete and have two bad games and some fat couch potato will tell his pals at work on monday morning that "YOU SUCK".......he wasnt happy with what he was told about the show and not so much the people selling and im not bashing him im just looking in from the outside.......keep it up and all my best........Jerry Lowry SJS reptiles

all of the above were PASTEL male to normal females. And it took all of a big 2 months to sell/Trade EVERYONE of them.

I agree with Terry. TN is not the easiest state to have a show in. Especially when you have an a-hole like Walter Cook to contend with. I try not to ever really bad mouth any of the shows that I go to. I go to many all over the country. I have been to Birmingham when it was awful for the buyers and vendors and I have been there when it was an awsome day for everyone. I have also been to the Columbus Ohio show when it was not so good and also when it was great. All shows tend to have their great months and their slower months. I am there as both a buyer and sometimes as a vendor. The thing I think most people are not seeing here is that everyone was lied to by Troy and Kellie. Even now, if you look at the website for the show, you can see that they said "tables are going fast". That was a lie. They also said, "over 6,000 advance tickets already sold", that was a lie. I don't think the animosity people have towards this show is coming so much from what was at the show than from the fact that people were duped into coming to the show by liars. I have lived here in Nashville all my life and I kinda feel like their lies have smeared our reputation and that any future atempts at having shows here have been ruined. Several of the vendors that they had listed on their vendor page had never even committed to come to the show. Anyone local that had ever been in Troy's reptile shop during it's brief time in business saw how awful the animals were kept and how pitiful they looked. So most of the local people, once they found out who was actually puting on the show, labled it a disaster from the start and didn't bother to attend. I went Friday and Saturday. I won't slam the show as I saw quite a few nice animals, but I wouldn't give the promoters air if they were in a jug. That is just my take.

I think we can all admit the show wasnt the greatest but at least it was an attempt to bring a show to Tennessee. I have lived in Tennessee for about 8 years and this show is the only one I can remember coming to Tennessee. I think the show will get better after a couple of years. My suggestion to the people who ran the show would be to advertise the show a little more next year they needed to get more people into the show. With more people in the shows more money will be spent which will be reason enough for vendors to bring nicer animals and to keep on vending the show year after year. If the next show is as dead as this one then I am sure many of the vendors will choose not to return.

I went thru that place at 8:30, yes 8:30 on Saturday, and went thru every vendors amimals sexing etc. I picked up a few granites black backs and over all crazy looking stuff, however did not see those guys. Good luck nice pics here is a pic of one of my granites
