I need help. I love to photograph retiles in the wild, and last year my wife came home telling me she had seen an aligator at our local preserve. I was sceptical, but the way people buy animals because they think its cool, then release them into the wild because they get too big and intimidateing, I wouldnt be suprised if she did. In fact today i ran into a park ranger who confimed that not only is there one, but hes seen a four footer, seen video of a ten footer, and video of what apeared to be another one a little larger. He pointed me in the right direction, and one spot is where my wife saw the small one. Im a snake guy primarily, and dont know much about gators that i havent seen on tv. What do they do, and when do they do it? When am i most likely to catch one sunning? Do they pritty much roam or do they have an area they claim as there teritorry? Ive seen places where they sun, seen tracks beside the water, everything but the gator itself. Also: My wife asked me a question that i couldnt answer, where do they hybernate in the winter? Thanks in advance for all your help. skinner
