This is a male hypo that came from our triple het male x tricolor hypo pairing from last year. He started out normal but now has this color loss going on. The scale surface is fine and smooth. It's the color and lack of it in areas that has me wondering. Have not had any other do stuff like this just wondering what others thought it could be.

definitely seems to be something going on there...a reduction / loss of red pigment. It'll be interesting to see whether the color change increases with time--and how far it goes. there was a fella up east somewhere 4-5 years ago sent me pix of a couple hondos (normal genotype, i THINK) that were gradually losing some pigment in degrees like your snake shows, except it was occurring in more distinct patches, in only 3-4 small areas of the snake. I'm not sure he has snakes anymore and never heard the outcome of the snakes though I expressed interest.
Now, of course, you'll face the dilemma of having to keep this snake and at least its mom to see if it produces more that go through the same ontogenetic change--which will require keeping THEM for a year, too, for observation. It's this kind of predicament that causes our collections to grow so much!
