Beardie ate a Bee..

drunkmike Jul 03, 2005 04:45 PM

hi I have a beardie that is about 7-8 months old and we had our first trip outside today. I had her on a leash and sat her in the grass.. being the spoiled brat she is she went after the first moving object and it happened to be a honey bee.. I tried sticking my finger in her mouth as she was chewing it to knock it back out but she kept jerking back and forth.. she was going to get it weither I liked it or not. Any idea on if this can hurt her? Its been about 45mins since she ate it and right now she is sitting in her cage on top of my other beardie just chilling.. ideas?

I've heard a couple ppl with this question since it is Bee and wap season, and it also happens to be 'it's nice enough to take beardie outside' season! lol.
From what i've read, Bees and wasps are NOT toxic to beardies or an lizard, but i would not feed them outside insects. Just amke sure your beardie poops it out because of the hard body.

Just a bit of a warning. Fireflies are toxic do not let them in your house and don't take your bearded out at night if they are around.

thanks for the info guys. It has been quite a few hours since she got ahold of the little sucker and she is still running around as hungry as usual so I think she is ok. Thanks!

I take Tak out for 3 minutes, and she finds new things to do! she ate a small bee(may have been some king of wasp), lots of clovers, and ran all over the yard! Do we know how fast the fastest beardie can run?
