I live in the SE in a old farm house. We have a window AC in the living room only. The temp's in my snakes cages run's upto 88 in the day. I only use florecents this time of year. This is my second summer in this house. Last year my snakes were small, now they are all getting in the 5 foot range. For referance, I have a black pine thats 5', a northern thats about the same, and a albino southern that's almost 4'. I normally feed 2 small to medium rats every week. I am wondering in this heat if it would be better to feed smaller meals more often? They dont show sighns of heat stress. There active and appitites are normall. They have burrowing substrate to cool off under, and large water bowls, but dont get in them. I will take them out after work and mist them, wich they seam to like. I know how I feel after a big meal on a hot day. Any opinoins?
Thanks, Doug
