I have a large female hog that is about 5 or 6 years old and has never laid eggs , I have been breeding hogs for a long time but i have this one; who is one of those Minisota line hogs that get 30 -35 inches every season i try breeding her in hopes that she will laid a ton of eggs but not even a slug , she will not let the male breed her every season always pushing the male off her back ????? all of the conditions in setting her up to breed is perfect as all of my other hogs that lay ,but don`t work on her, ANY ONE HAVE ANY TRICKS I CAN USE ON HER NEXTS SEASON????? THANKS

are you SURE that she is a she? It almost sounds like a male, with that behavior. I don't know much about hognoses, but had a male cornsnake that was mis-sexed.

Until "she" lays eggs you can never be 100% sure that a snake is female based on probing and visual sexing. It is certainly a possibility that she is a he so I wouldn't discount it.

My big hog is a male also. Check out the pic a few threads back. Just looking visually, you would think a female, but looking at the tails, the concensus is male. I can't seem to get him insync with the girls though. When he is interested they are not and vice versa. Such is life.....good luck though.
