Sleep Walking

maneatingorchid Jul 04, 2005 01:47 AM

Hey everybody, it's been a while, but school's finally out.

I noticed something funny a few nights ago. One of my females, Tinuviel, started twitching in her sleep, fell off the screen side of the cage and crawled back up it. She never opened her eyes during any of it. Now, scientists say that reptiles don't really dream, but that's wierd. Could she have just been having nerve twitches, like some humans, in the more shallow stages of sleep and then been too tired to open her eyes? Anyone have anything like this happen? If not, then, it's just something wierd and funny for you all!

That is pretty weird! Never watched my dragons sleep though so I can't say I've ever seen anything like that. I had a cat that would fall asleep on the window ledge or sofa and roll over in his sleep and fall off. From the sofa it was just like watching silly putty run off a ledge but from the window it was downright funny! You'd see his head start to hang over and then all of a sudden he would be on his back on the floor. So much for the rummor that cats always land on their feet!

Anyway, back to the dragons, I am not sure how they can be certain that reptiles don't have any more advance brain functions. They have found that not all bird talk is mimicry and they have tiny brains too. I am not at all convinced that these are all DUMB animals who are only acting on INSTINCT!

Good to see you're back!
