Another whirlwind attempt in alternaland only ends in an incomplete trip. I am on strike 3 out west but have been able to add to my lifelist all 3 trips so far. This time the "highlight" was an albino Rio Grande leopard frog tadpole (lifer) found in the Pecos crossing on Juno rd. I stopped to soak my feet and saw TMTC R.G.leopard frogs when something white caught my eye. I collected several tadpoles for my T. marcianus and a few frogs. No alterna but did see:
1 Thamnophis m. marcianus DOR
3 Masticophis f. testaceus 2 DOR 1 AOR (1 red head, 1 normal, 1 light pinkish-tan)
3 Cnemidophoris g. gularis
1 Cnemidophoris sexlineatus viridus (lifer)
2 Crotophytus c. collaris
1 Drymarchon c. errebenus
All in all, an ok trip but lots of miles and little to show. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!
