Drinking soloutions?

CokeOfMan Jul 04, 2005 11:33 AM

I'm getting my pair of Knight Anoles soon, and I'm just wondering about ways to get them to drink(anoles in general), which one do you use, which one has worked the best?

1. Spraying leaves (A book said that this wouldn't be enough, for Knights that is)
2. A turkey baster, and drop on them (Same book suggested that)
3. Moving water(airstone, waterfall etc.)
4. A waterbowl mounted on a branch

If you know of any other soloution, please write them aswell.
And, as I said, which one usually works the best(or maybe a combination)?

Just in case; what are symptoms of dehydration?

Misting should be enough for A. equistris. They will get a certain amount of water from their prey. You can try a water dish but it may or may not work. Try putting some of their favorite prey items in a small deli dish. When they are comfortable eating from the deli dish, substitute water. They might get the idea and drink from it.

I had a small waterfall in the corner of my Knight's cage, saw her drink from it a few times... but i also misted 2x a day. The waterfall kept the humidity up nice and high.
