Best way to breed a 4000 gram female ?

snakewrangler69 Jul 04, 2005 01:35 PM

Looking for feedback to the best way to breed a 4000 gram / 10 year old female that hasn't ever been breed. Would it been ok to start breeding her now? Attempting to induce ovulation by reducing temperature and heat? Or would be waiting until October or November be better?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or opinions.

Some of this advice sounds shoddy! As per de Vosjoli and the Barkers, ball pythons can reproduce well into their twenties. The St Louis zoo had a 35 year old female that laid a clutch of fertile eggs. A 10 year old female should just be in her prime. Patience will prevail and some mega balls will hatch!!!

The information supplied was very helpful. Only 1 serious reply. Apparently there aren't many "experts" who care. Unless it's for their benefit!
