Acquiring Horned Lizards

Greeing All!

I am currently interested in acquiring some HL's . I have had some experience with fragile and extrememly difficult reptiles before, and would like to try my hand at keeping this little wonders. Does one need a permit to own any one species of the HL(even if you purchasde one at th pet store)? If so, where does one apply for them? Also, where is the best place to buy these? is there a good website that sells HL's? I read in a previous posting that it is illegal to sell captive born babies. Is that true? any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks!

Most species of hls are illegal for sell or trade but if you saw one at the pet store chances are that you more likely saw a desert hl (p. platyrhinos) which a permit is not needed to keep these in captivity. Please do a lot of research before acquiring an hl as they require a strick ant diet. Good luck in advance.
