Id like to know what this front ventilation is they are talking about??

Second, can anyone tell me if there's anything they would do to change it, that is, are there any flaws in the design, things that could have been better??

Just curious because this seems like the best design so far put out for various amphibians and herps..Might get one.

I have 3 of the largest, they are very nice and easy to clean and work with. The vents in the front are found in the black strip below the doors. The only thing I would change personally is make the holes on the front vent larger with some kind of plastic mesh like stopper or make it adjustable, things can get stuffy in there. Other then that I love em. The background would be nicer if it was cork bark haha. Also, the smell that comes with them at first kind of throws you off but fades away with time. Any other questions?

i think they are great. the only thing i would ppersonally change is the lid. it means it doesnt hold humidity as well as i would like and i have had to cover half of it. also the lid is sort of seperated into two, but it would be good if it was hingerd in the middle.

So how exactly is the lid formed, is it one part, and it's hinged at the rear? OR is it just a removeable one piece top? It sounds like the lid is one piece??

That concerns me...What kind of smell...is it a chemical that requires extra washing away or something...??

Sort of a plastic kind smell. It does fade away though. I think maybe it might be come from the background piece.

Yup definately from the background piece, the foam. The foam is removeable so no worries there. The top is not hinged just clips in on the edges in four spots. Also, the top is sectioned into two piece to add support to the screen itself. One downside I have heard as well is that if the lights are not placed probably they will melt the lid. But we don't have to worry about that.
