Getting into Nephrurus Amyae

davejoyce2000 Jul 04, 2005 03:50 PM

I want start breeding amyae as a hobby. What's the best and least expensive way to obtain a 1.1 pair? Buy 5 unsexed babies or juveniles and hope to be lucky enough get a pair out of it or just buy a 1.1 pair?

Do clutch hatchlings from 1.1 nephrurus amyae have the tendency to be male or female dominant for this species?

Id say a 1.1 and look for some around 2 1/2 - 4 yrs...my best producer is around 4 1/4 yrs.

Unless you feel like waiting for your babies to grow up for 2 years. The babies are great to have though because they are SOOO cute!

Guaranteed Pair = 2000+++ (and 3500+++ gets a 1.2)
Five Babies = 3250+++
You just gotta look around for Amyae, hard to find!

So you just gotta hope that you get female babies.

Good luck!
