Thanks to those of you who replied earlier, I really appreciate it! I decided to start a new thread since the original was somewhat older. The 8 babies are doing wonderful and eating great. Yesterday, I had 8 more to hatch (from different parents), but one died soon after coming out of the egg. He was much smaller than the others, but I'm not really sure what happened. I think I'm just going to set up a large tank and keep them unless someone comes along and would like a few for pet or display/ terrarium animals. I would be too worried if I sold them to the pet store because I know that more than likely they would be food for something else. I really wouldn't mind them being used for scenting as long as they were kept properly and otherwise appreciated as pets or display. These are from Alabama (which is where I'm from, the scientific name for these guys is S. grammicus hyacinthinus (according to the field guide that I have). They have a UVB light and a heat lamp on one side on the enclousure, so they can get away from the heat if they wish. Thanks again, Christy
