I have been asking around about Caramel albinos, and trying to figure out the kinked back thing. I've come to the conclusion that all lines of caramels will have the potential to produced kinked offspring.
Is this unique to caramels? I was wondering what the kink represents. Is it genetic, like a morph? Or is it a defect that is only a genetic disposition?
Do normals produce kinks? If a snake pair produces a kink, does that mean that there is anything wrong with those snakes, or could it have been a fluke? Could environmental issues during egg development be the cause of a kink?
I know that rumors get started for the wrong reasons, and they are hard to stop, so I'm not trying to start a flame war with people accusing anyone of being dishonest, or having junk animals, but I am trying to be careful about animals I buy. I have a large group of possible het for Caramel females... and I want to buy a caramel male to prove them out,,, and more importantly to produce caramels. However, I'm not sure the best way to approach it.
Does any body have any knowledge on kinks in ball pythons?
I would really appreciate it. Also, I would love to see a picture of a kink.
Jason
