what kind of substrate can i use for my burmese other than astro turk and carpeting and can you list all of them with advantages and disadvantages.. Because i know some bark you cant use and all that...

And can you also help me I'am having a problem holding the humidty it stays down around 40-45% witch is not good enough especially now when he is going to be shedding in the next 5 or 6 days.. what can i do to increase the humidity i already spray the cage a couple times a day.. What can i make out of the cage to stick him in when hes shedding or in the cage to make it better..

I've used newspaper, cypress mulch and aspen shavings.

Aspen shavings are probably my favorite, especially for smaller species, who like to burrow down into it. It looks pretty good too. Newspaper is somewhat more convenient for larger species though.

Cypress mulch works well to keep humidity up, though it tends to be a breeding ground for mites.

To raise humidity, use cypress mulch, reduce ventilation somewhat, mist once or twice a day and/or place the water bowl in the heated part of the cage to increase evaporation.
